Abstract:T he p rincip le and m ethod to m easu re the in itial releasing expanding energy of gas from coal are in troduced, and a set of m easu ring in strum en t is also bu ilt up. A ccording to som e test resu lts of ou tbu rst and non2ou tbu rst coal, the first releasing gas expanding energy from coal is m uch larger than the later one, and its quantity increases with the in tensity of outburst in the uncovering coal seam.
