Dr. Qiu Yuanhang (born 1990) is an Associate Professor in Computer Science. In 2017, he was awarded a prestigious scholarship from the China Scholarship Council (CSC) to pursue a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science at Massey University, New Zealand. He joined China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT) in 2022 as a postdoctoral researcher under the university’s faculty development program and was awarded Jiangsu Provincial Outstanding Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2023.
His research focuses on complex data representation and modeling, as well as intelligent monitoring and early warning systems for rockburst hazards in mining environments. He currently leads several competitive research projects, including a National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Young Scientists Fund (Category C), a Youth Project under the Jiangsu Provincial Basic Research Program (Natural Science Foundation), the Jiangsu Outstanding Postdoctoral Fellowship, and a Youth Program funded by the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities.
His work has been published in leading international journals and conferences such as Knowledge-Based Systems, Applied Soft Computing, Neural Computing and Applications, ICASSP, and INTERSPEECH. He also serves as a reviewer for prestigious venues including Information Sciences, Neurocomputing, and ICASSP.
