Profile
Dr Ruilin Li received his BEng in civil engineering, MSc and PhD in geotechnical engineering from China University of Mining and Technology, China in 2012, 2014 and 2018, respectively. During 2016-2017, he visited the University of Nottingham as a joint PhD student. He is now an assistant professor at State Key Laboratory for Geomechanics and Deep Underground Engineering, China University of Mining and Technology. His research interests cover the mechanical behaviour and engineering response of lunar regolith, method and equipment for simulating extreme lunar environment, and behaviour of granular matter. In recent years, he has proposed a high-order stress gradient continuum theory for granular matter, developed a novel geotechnical magnetic-similitude-gravity model testing method (GMMT Method), and developed a CUMT-1 lunar regolith simulant. He won the Youth Science and technology award of China Coal Society in 2019. He chairs nine research projects now including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province and the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation. He has published over 12 peer-reviewed journal papers, obtained over 16 Chinese invention patents, and is currently a peer reviewer for many journals.
