Net-Zero Pathways and Carbon Neutrality Strategies
Research Focus:
Focusing on net-zero emission pathway planning and carbon neutrality strategy research at both organizational and industry levels, exploring the technological pathways, policy mechanisms, and business models for different industries (semiconductors, steel, new energy vehicles, etc.) to achieve long-term emission reduction targets. The research encompasses Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) target setting, net-zero roadmap development, emission reduction technology portfolio optimization, and carbon credit utilization strategies.
Key Technologies:
Science-Based Target Setting: Assisting enterprises in setting both near-term and long-term emission reduction targets aligned with the Paris Agreement's 1.5°C temperature control goal, based on SBTi methodologies.
Net-Zero Roadmap Planning: Developing phased and implementable net-zero transition roadmaps tailored to industry characteristics and corporate realities.
Emission Reduction Technology Assessment: Evaluating the cost-effectiveness and emission reduction potential of various abatement technologies to optimize technology portfolio strategies.
Carbon Credit Management: Researching quality assessment methods for carbon credit projects to guide enterprises in the appropriate use of carbon offset mechanisms.
Representative Achievements:
Served as the lead for a key project under the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), successfully reducing greenhouse gas emissions in semiconductor manufacturing processes from 100,000 tonnes to 25,000 tonnes, achieving annual carbon tax savings exceeding SGD 200,000.
Conducted in-depth research on carbon emissions and carbon management for the semiconductor, steel, and new energy vehicle industries, publishing over 10 high-quality academic papers.
Shared emission reduction technology expertise and net-zero transition practices at the 2023 BSI Carbon Neutrality Summit and the 2024 Global Steel Conference.
Participated in greenhouse gas management efforts with the Singapore National Environment Agency (NEA), contributing to the implementation of national-level carbon reduction policies.
