He Huan, male, born in February 1981, Han ethnicity, native of Pingjiang, Hunan Province. He is a Professor, Doctor, and PhD Supervisor.

He received his Doctor of Science degree in Microbiology from Central South University in 2009. He has conducted visiting research at Mälardalen University in Sweden and the University of Alberta in Canada successively.

He recruits graduate students in the disciplines of Mineral Processing Engineering, Clean Energy Engineering, Biology and Medicine, as well as Resources and Environment. He has been selected into the Second Batch of the "Voyage Talent Program" and the 9th University Young Backbone Teacher Training Program of China University of Mining and Technology, and the National Clean Energy Innovative Talent Program. Currently, he serves as a Member of the Geomicrobiology Committee of the Chinese Society for Microbiology.

His main research interests include ecological utilization of solid waste, green and clean utilization of coal, and ecological restoration of mining areas. Up to now, he has presided over and participated in more than 30 research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Jiangsu Provincial Natural Science Foundation, National Key R&D Program, Xuzhou Municipal Key R&D Program, Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities, and enterprise horizontal research projects.

He has published 110 academic papers as the first or corresponding author, among which over 60 are indexed by SCI/EI. He has been granted 8 authorized patents and published 2 academic monographs.

In teaching, he delivers core undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as The Wonderful World of Microorganisms, Fundamentals of Bioengineering, and Coal Biotechnology. He actively promotes teaching reform and curriculum construction, undertaking 4 teaching reform projects and winning the Second Prize of University-level Teaching Achievement Award. He has participated in compiling 2 textbooks and published 5 teaching research papers.

He attaches great importance to cultivating students’ innovative and practical abilities, and has repeatedly guided students to participate in innovation and entrepreneurship competitions for college students, winning first and second prizes at the national and provincial levels. He has been awarded more than 30 honorary titles at all levels, including University’s Most Popular Teacher, Top 100 University Teachers, Outstanding Supervisor of Provincial Excellent Graduation Theses, and Excellent Class Teacher.
