Prof. Anye Cao is a researcher in Mining Engineering at the School of Mines, China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT). His principal research interests and expertise lie in rock mechanics, geomechanics, mine seismology, and seismic hazards in mines. He received his BSc and PhD degrees from the China University of Mining and Technology in 2004 and 2009, respectively. In 2008, sponsored by the Joint Education Program from China Scholarship Council (CSC), he went to Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Australia, and studied under the supervision of Dr Xun Luo. With nearly 20 years of experience in research, on-site and academia, Anye has devoted himself to exploring knowledge of coal and rockbursts as well as developing industry-oriented solutions for hazard prevention and control. He is in charge of more than 110 research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National key research and development program, major industrial projects, etc. His research footprints spread across over 60 coal mines worldwide.
